IMO, Olympus ought to have come out with a press-release on this issue and tackled it with a consistent worldwide approach/procedure.
In my case, I refused to pay some 70 Euros to get mine fixed and, on top of it, considering that its paint was beginiing to wear off in a couple of spots, over the week-end I traded in both the OMD and its lenses for a Leica M9-P. Same shop I had bought the OMD from and got a good deal.
