Lens debris defect DMC-ZS9

I bought two of these wonderful little cameras a year ago.  One of them started to show debris in the lens.  They looked like blurry threads..  I sent it in and they cleaned it under warranty.  Now just three months later, both of my ZS9s have debris in the lens, spots, particles and threads.  If I tap the camera, they move around.  If I zoom, they go in and out of focus.

Sad to say I recommended the camera to several friends who bought it.  Now , one of them reports that his camera has developed debris in the lens.  He sent it in for repair. Now a few months later, he has more debris.

I wonder if others have found this problem.  I am about to suggest that the cameras be recalled.  A one time fix of the camera does not work.  The junk in the lens returns.  Something is falling apart inside the lens elements.
