Nope . it isnt simply a cropping issue.

Its also view finder and sensor issues. The APS-C often has higher pixel density - and if it dont it is at least faster to read.

An APS-C view finder gives a larger image and shows the cropping.

None of that is what I was referring to.  I was talking about his assertion that it gives you a new lens mm-size by putting it on a camera with a different size sensor.
