Because there is no reason why we shouldn't be able to expect performance on par with DSLR. At least when comparing APS-C bodies. They get compared because they are indeed comparable. There is no reason not to expect that Sony can give us the same speed and AF performance as a DSLR, in an NEX.

Many of us have come from DSLR and expect more. I had the 5N for example. As soon as the light got scarce, that thing would focus on just about anything it wanted. You had to use manual focus or at least DMF if you wanted to be sure to get sharp images. No way anyone should be satisfied with that.

Also many are considering dumping their DSLRs for mirrorless. They want to know what they are giving up with the move. So I expect these conversations will continue.

Honestly, if Sony is smart they would focus on NEX and forget about the lower to mid class DSLR market. Concentrate on NEX and their high end DSLRs. That is the future.

If you are satisfied, that's great. These NEX are cool cameras, but they can be MUCH better.
