I was only trying to bring up some other potential reasons for a difference in IQ. I still feel that camera settings and the JPG algorithms can affect the final image quality beyond just the pixel resolution. I don't know how much of a factor this is, but it is in the mix.

Thanks very much for your supporting comments.

You are of course correct in stating that the IQ can be affected very significantly by the various picture settings, the effectiveness of the OIS and the quality of the image processing hardware and in camera software.

However, as we clearly agree, no matter how well the various camera settings are chosen it is impossible to capture the detail in an image which is too small in relation to the size of the pixels on the sensor.
