There is no doubt, that your lenses will work on a D7000. But the two lenses are just basic kit-lenses. It is probably good enough for casual shooting, but not for demanding work. They would not do the D7000 justice.

The question is, what you want with your photography. Do you 1. want to make casual shooting of the family in good light - or 2. do you want to be able to experiment with low light, blurred backgrounds and things like that?

If 1, then buy a cheap Nikon camera house and use your current lenses.

If 2, buy the Nikon D7000 and invest in good lenses like Nikon 16-85 3.5-5.6 or even a Sigma 17-50 2.8.  - and sell your 28-80mm lens.
