Peter why do you defend Nikon like this? Just asking.

I have no intention of defending Nikon. I am not trying to deny that the problem exists. All I am saying that this is a user correctable error and the magnitude of the problem should not be blown out of proportion.

Are you going to dispute the shots in my gallery and the proof that this issue of internal debris is real for some? It is not the stuff that dragons are made of. Some people have this issue showing up at f5.6 even (like me).

Nothing could be further from the truth. I am not trying to dispute that you and a number of other people are having this problem.

Cleaning oil off a sensor every 200 shots is not cool.

Cool or not, it can be done, and as far as I am concerned it should be done.  Maybe a couple of times after every 200 shot s initially, and then maybe after every 2000 shots and after that maybe everything could be back to normal. In the meant time you could try to keep Nikon in ther loop, tell them what is going on, and what they suggets could be done about it. And that is what I mean by saying "just deal with it".

Not wanting to argue here but do you think you can change hearts and minds when the user has this issue and has to deal with it since day one?

The beauty is it the eye of the beholder. You can make this problem to be as big or as little as you want to do it. It is all in your mind. It is up to you how big an issue you make out of it.

Our beloved nikon has not even bothered to entertain that something is wrong publicly and lies and says they have not heard of it.

As I have said before, to me, it would make no difference whatsoever if Nikon made a public statement about it, And I would not expect them to do so. If I had the problem I would expect them to fix my camera. How would a public statement help your camera the keep its sensor clean?

You want to also ignore documentation from lens rentals too that rents out this camera and has 60 of them?

I do not want to ignore anything. I acknowledge the problem. What I am trying to do is to convey a different attitude toward handling this problem. To me it is not the end of the world. This is a user correctable problem, so why not correct it and just get on with life?
