auto HDR or manual HDR set of images on GH3

HI, has anyone tried the auto HDR feature on the GH3?

I am guessing it takes 3 images , blends them and saves as a jpg file?

I liked to use HDR from time to time on my past Nikon gear. I am finding more of a need to do the HDR shots with my GH2 and GX1 to get the DR I like.

If there was an area I wish I could hack on a GH2 it would be the ability to bracket in 2ev stps. At the moment I have to shoot 5 images to get what my nikon could do in 3.

With the GH3 is the image buffer any quicker to clear a set of 7 RAW images? The GH2 chokes a bit and is a pain when doing a few bracketed sets in a row for my HDR...
