I just sold my D700, 24-70 f/2.8 and a few other lenses last week. While I loved the camera and lenses, in the end the size and weight just became more than I was willing to deal with. I ended up leaving it at home more and more because I didn't want to lug the camera and lenses around.

My comment comes from a different viewpoint. My first camera just a few years ago was a bridge camera (Panny FZ18), and I got to the limits of the small sensor. The fellow at the camera store picked up on my reluctance when I came to his store willing to buy one of the big bad boy DLSRs, and he pointed me in the direction of the M4/3. A little research after that, and I came across so many comments online like Picasso's above, that I went ahead and got a Panny G3.

It's been pretty good, although there have been times when I think & feel that I would be getting better images out of a bigger sensor camera, but maybe not. One thing that I don't hear anybody mention is the fact that the bigger physically a person is, the less of an issue is the size & weight of a larger camera, and conversely, the smaller you are, the more of an issue that big heavy camera is going to be.
