seems to me that you might have tested the Noritsu work station rather than the Fuji 6x9.

The Noritsu does not do justice to negs/slides, especially at higher ISO (and 400 ISO is already high in the film world).

what needs to be compared are final prints, preferably A2 size or thereabouts, with the MF image processed through the analogue chain. Your results will be very different.

by bringing the MF image into the digital chain through an industrial lab scanner, and by comparing on web rendition, you are equalising the MF output at the lowest common denominator.

If you really have to scan, the MF neg/slide would be better served by a an Imacon, with yourself looking over the shoulder of the operator.

it is becoming increasingly difficult to get colour slides/negs processed through a truly analogue workflow. Black and white is still quite feasible.

print should be the output, not web posting.
