I like the second attempt better. Glass can be a real bugger sometimes; yet at other times has no perceptible effect. I took some shots of Vervet monkeys through quite thick glass at an open range zoo, and even squinting and using averted imagination, I cannot see any IQ degradation from it. Other shots on the same day in different light the glass was plainly interfering with the IQ.
Wonderful to see these mass migration stop-overs in person. Lucky you!
The closest most of us will ever get to seeing them is on Sir David Attenborough's TV shows and similar.

Thanks for the comment... I'm still not sure about which better represent the actual scene.. The second is closer to the others in color but the desaturation in the first three could also be due to atmospheric effects, as the last cranes were much closer... The glass could be the culprit here as I did note that I thought at the time that the exposure through the glass was longer than required for the sunny day conditions... Since my memory won't allow me to reproduce the scene exactly and as I included no color chart in the picture I guess it's whatever the viewer likes best...
