Using IS with X-Pro1 and 18-55mm zoom

Using IS with X-Pro1 and 18-55mm zoom. I have firmware 2.0.1. Anything more to do then select OIS on on the lens and select the IS mode? Is there a manual for this IS mode?

How is your experience in terms of effectiveness?
