Thanks, no problem, I will try to formulate things... clearer.

So it is not only an Olympus Firmware problem.

I think there is not Firmware problem at all. It is just a kind of resonance between two electro-magnetic systems. Since it pure physics, that is a reason for quick solution absence.

I suspect that as well and had mentioned it a while ago. However, certain individuals on this forum totally dismissed what I said and were very rude and aggressive. One of them got banned shortly afterwards for his attitude (I had nothing to do with that).

So, while your ideas may be correct, we will never know as these individuals will do whatever it takes to ridicule you.

Everyone dismisses the motor as "it is only operational when performing AF and not while taking the photo" My question is when the motor is not operational, what is the coil in the motor doing? I suggest that it is acting as an antenna in a tuned circuit.

The lens being a pancake, means that the comparatively large AF motor is very close to the sensor or some other sensitive component. This is why the banding problem is predominant with this lens and not so much with other lenses.

A test with extension tubes that have electrical contacts for AF should confirm or dismiss this hypothesis.
