Canon 85mm f 1.8 USM

I think there is an update for the 50 1.4 in the works. This would be great for a crop if it is more reliable and focuses faster than the current model.

You can easily do macro with the 85 1.8 by buying a cheap AF aware extension tubes. But if you don't have plenty of light and patience it's difficult. especially when you go past the 1:1 ratio. Ultimately you need to learn how to focus stack for dealing with the micro DOF.
