I have the Canon angle finder and I just never found it easy to use. You can do autofocus with Liveview, although admittedly not quickly, and I find that much easier. Then again, these days when I need to shoot at odd angles, I'll connect the camera to my Android phone or tablet and use that to see the image and take the shot in Liveview. With a 6 foot long cable, this lets me get places that an angle finder wouldn't be of much use.
Let's see you try that for moving subjects! I am not talking about macro from a tripod - there LiveView is almost unbeatable but for subjects where I need the phase detection autofocus to track a moving subject close to the ground when a higher position of the camera is either not desirable or even possible. It takes some training but there the angle finder is unbeatable.
