So I just downloaded the Canon Software, DPP, for my SX50; I am running Windows 7. My screen resolution is 1920 x 1080.

When I try to open the program, I get an error message: This program requires a display capable of 1024 x 768 resolution or more (Screen area) and High Color or higher settings.

UGH. I am computer literate. Has anyone else had this problem.

Without knowing your computer settings and assuming they are at their defaults, I would advise just starting over again. In the programs section of control panel, delete the downloaded version of DPP you installed. Re-boot the pc to clean out any related files that may still be in menmory. Then insert the disc that came with the SX50 and install the DPP program from there. Let us know if this solves your problem, otherwise the task will be to find out what settings are on your pc that prevent DPP from running.

Thanks.  It works -- I reinstalled the software and everything is "GO" -- Much appreciated!
