Ready / Processed picture
Black and white shot of my child.
Background:
He is sick and not feeling so great, sitting down watching some children show out of internet.
As I don't have any radio triggers or cable, so I had to use the camera flash to fire the one that is illuminating his face. Used manual flash setting on camera (set to lowest power) and optical trigger mode on off-camera flash. I tried to point the camera flash mostly away from him with a piece of cardboard so it wouldn't affect the picture too much or light the background.
I used small aperture (f22)to keep the background black as he is situated very close to a white wall (about 2feet). That unfortunately added some diffraction also but nothing too grave in my opinion.
Postprocessing in Lightroom 3
You can see the camera flash and the wall in the original below.
Original turned to jpg in Lightroom
Equipment:
Nikon D200 + Nikkor 35mm/1.8
Nissin DI 622 mark II Flash with home made snoot
I am looking for comments and suggestions on picture, technique and post processing. Constructive criticism is very much welcome. Thanks.
