Re: Have you swapped your DSLR for a MFT?

I went from a D3 to an OM-D. In my view a 2011 OM-D offers as good or better over all IQ than a 2007 D3. That gives one a choice of going down in size (OM-D) or up in IQ (D800). The effort of lugging an FF camera and lenses around was spoiling my fun so I went the OM-D route. Very happy. Pictures just as good, hassle factor down by 75%.
The G5 has, apparently, a variant of the GH2 sensor. I had a GH2, it was not an improvement on the D3. I think you should be looking at an OM-D or the GH3 (which I have never used).
You "know" that APS-C will be better than MFT do you? Clever you, because I've never been able to find any such thing
I don't know much about the NEX6, Sony's range of cruddy lenses render it a paperweight in my book, so I've not bothered to look at the actual body.
The MFT lenses aren't that amazing mind, it seems the need to have a light focusing group for speed, plus the need to keep them small, doesn't help. They are about as good as everyone else's lenses, unlike the HG and SHG Oly FT lenses, which were simply superior to anything else.
8mm fish, 7-14, 25mm f1.4, 45mm f1.8, 60mm macro and 75mm f1.8 gets you a good set. Note the lack of fast long tele. There are two quickish zooms, 12-35 and 35-70, I've not used them, reviews are positive but not raving. There is a 12mm f2, I have it, it is a lovely lens but optically not special. There is a new 17mm f1.8, don't have it, reviews lukewarm.
OM-D, 12mm, no sharpening. Some NR on the waves where the exposure has been pushed.
Also 25mm, handheld absurdly slowly to show off IBIS.

I use a Nikon D7000 and carry a Fuji X-10 when traveling light. I am looking at MFT - essentially either a Lumix G5 or Nex 6 - to see if I can combine the too and get good IQ in a compact size. Now I know that on paper the APS-C sensor of the DSLR should be a lot better than a MFT, but when you look at some of the images which come out of the G5 for example I am sometimes blown away. It always comes down to art and science I suppose. However good or bad the product made by the camera companies, it is ultimately the skill of the photographer using the camera which is the main deciding factor to the look of the final image. And so to my question. Were you an avid DSLR user who has successfully swapped to MFT. Which kit did you chose and why? I would love to hear of your experience and any advise for one thinking of treading this path.
