Olympus 45/1.8 & 60/2.8

Does it make sense to own both the 45/1.8 and 60/2.8?
It seems they are close enough in focal length that it would generally not be worthwhile to own both, but many people seem to do so.
Absent a strong preference for one focal length or the other, I'd think the main considerations would be the higher f-stop of the 45, the macro capability of the 60 and the relative image quality of the two.
As a general rule for primes, I'd think a sensible progression would be to approximately double focal length, so for example 12, 25, 45 and 75 would be a good set.
Why do people regard the 45 and 60 as different enough to get both?
