RX1 Focus Box question and some photos

I'm loving the RX1 (mostly).  The Zeiss creamyness really adds a lot of flavor to candids.  Having some issues with focusing though -  Does anyone know if a firmware update would allow a smaller focus box or is that a limitation of the system?
