I've had my 7D for almost two years.  It has been through the mill on many photo trips throughout the west.  It has been slammed in aircraft overhead compartments and in backpacks.  I took a fall down a 10' bank in Yellowstone with a Sony A55 and my 7D, both on tripods.  The Sony was destroyed and my 7D with 400mm f/4-5.6L attached came through without a problem.  I've used it in the high Sierra and on tropical beaches.  It takes between 600-650 RAW on a battery (I always carry two).  With a SanDisk 16GB 90MB/s, I've never had a buffer delay in shooting 8 fps.  The 7D is so cheap right now ($1199 at B&H), it's embarrassing.  Would I ever change to a different camera?  Sure, when the 7d MK II comes out later this year.
