I just finished comparing every aspect of my Canon G15 with the Lumix DMC-FZ200, using the IQs, NR specs, etc....all comparisons made right here on DPReview and I have a question. How on earth can DPReview give the DMC-FZ200 an 80% rating and the Canon G15 only a 75% rating?
I'm sure there's something I'm missing, but I can't figure it out. The only thing I see the Lumix does better is zoom (24x)...that's it!
I own and use both the G15 and FZ200. I have trouble thinking of them as in the same category. One is a bridge camera (comparable to SX50 and such) and the other is a larger-sensor enthusiast camera. Both have fast lenses -- but one is 24-600 mm equiv and the other 28-140. EVF of FZ200 is better for composition than OVF of G15. FZ200 has articulated LCD, if that matters to anyoned (doesn't to me).
G15 is better at higher ISOs. It shoots good videos, but the FZ200 has more flexible video options. For me they're both keepers.
