How to tell if I have a bad copy of the Sigma 50 F1.4

I just purchased a Sigma 50 F1.4, I did a few test photos, I can't tell any major difference between it and the Nifty fifty. I read that there are good and bad copies of these lens and would like to know what's the best way to find this out. Tried to google it but nothing much came up. Any suggestions?
