That's exactly what pays their bills - haven't you seen the ads on this site? That's what pays their bills. If people come to a site to read reviews of pro cameras, why wouldn't that be good for dpreview? What's bad for dpreview is when I leave to go read a 1DX review on another website...
Pay per view doesn't pay much. If all you do is read, DPreview will hardly earn anything on you. Apparently DPreview thinks (knows) that they will earn more money by spending their testing time on consumer models. BTW, lots of people use add blockers anyway...
