Well, Tyym, you're a fitter man than I lugging the 80-200 with you on a hike!
The 70-300VR has no trouble at all outresolving the D7000 right out to about 220mm. At 300, the center is sharp, putting out a goodly portion of one blur unit per SLR Gear. It even hangs in beautifully handheld at 36MP:
