As others have said, the camera lacks many features compared to even a new rebel. If you want 'gadgets' then this is not the camera for you.
But if you want the image characteristics that only a FF sensor can offer, the 5D is a lot of camera for little money. I could sell mine and buy a T4i for almost little out of pocket expense, but yet I won't do it.
And the numerous 16x20 and 20x30 inch prints I've made from a 5D tell me that "only' 12mp of resolution is still plenty for most applications :;
