Here's a link to a Wall Street Journal Article about it:

http://online.wsj.com/article_email/SB10001424127887323635504578215692892912404-lMyQjAxMTAzMDAwMjEwNDIyWj.html

I just don't see where Intel has a chance at persuading content providers to offer them a better deal, since their set top boxes are likely to be priced much higher than existing ARM based solutions, and there are more and more ARM based solutions purchased all the time.

For example, we're seeing USB Flash Drive size devices with quad core ARM CPUs, fast GPUs, 1GB or 2GB of DDR3, USB Host Ports, Wireless N, Android 4.x and more for under $100 now (with some of them selling in the $50 price range).

So, I just don't see how Intel can compete on price, since the ARM based devices (Set Top boxes and devices that serve the same purpose, phones, tablets, etc.) are going to end up with dramatically more market share for use with Web TV type content.

IOW, I think it's far more likely that content providers will negotiate with vendors offering apps that run on ARM instead of making pricing concessions for [higher priced] Intel solutions with a lower market share in the Web TV segment.
