The UK gun crime rate has gone up 89% in a decade after their precocious gun ban.

In the USA where we are selling guns faster then we can make them is crime rates are down.

None of this matters though. People tend to ignore facts that do not confirm their distorted world view.

No, it doesn't matter because you still have 200 X as many gun related homicides.

Daily Mail? Facts? World view. Oh please.

There was a 40% increase following 1997 due to a rise in gang violence in inner cities in the early part of the last decade. Most of these were committed with smuggled, replica and home-made weapons. The death rate however did not increase.

Gun homicides however remained almost static in the UK, but 50 a year is a pretty small number compared to 10,000 in the US. You have a long way to go.

Gun crime has since fallen back after targeted police action against gangs and a change on the law to increase the penalty for illegal gun smuggling to life imprisonment. Form 2010 to 2011 alone there was a decrease of 17%.

So there are other methods of dealing with the problem.

The process of observation changes that which is observed, hence you cannot photograph reality.
