I do not always agree with you but yes this the most important advantage. In particular at base ISO, fhe D800 NEFs can be processed pretty much as RAWs from a Pentax 645D or Leica S2. Eg with birds in flight, you can push the shadows beyond the wings to a point you can only dream of with the E-5. That would of course also be better with an E-7 with OMD sensor that Oly failed to deliver.

However in terms of harvesting the full resolution of the D800, it is better to stay with base ISO and you have to be very picky with lenses and often also careful with shooting technique.
