Well, after considering feedback I received and much deliberation, I went with...
Mac Mini, i7 2.7ghz, upgraded to the 1TB fusion drive, buying 16gb ram upgrade from crucial, the HP ZR2440w 24.0" LED Backlit IPS Monitor.
I think this will serve me well now and give me upgrade options in the future. Thank you all again for your feedback!
