I have both the 24-120 f4 VR and the 16-35 f4 VR which I use on my D800. They are both great lenses. The beauty of them is the fact that you can do some major cropping, if necessary and still get a great photo, especially with the 16-35. I often find the choice of which to use a difficult decision. The bulk of my work is landscape. I also have the 70-200 f2.8 VR, which is great for quick action shots. For what you do, these there lenses satisfy all your needs. Only use will determine which is best for you.
