Is it worth getting the A-mount adapter for the NEX-6?

I recently purchased the NEX-6, and I have 1 Minolta Maxxum xi 100-300mm lens.
1. Should I get the E-mount adapter for the Minolta lens? ($140), or

2. Forget about the Maxxum, and just get a native E-mount zoom?
Can anyone share their personal experiences with the A-mount adapter? What are the pros/cons?
