I was looking for a longer fast lens for less frequent usage having acceptable focusing performance and Tamron 70-200 sounds like a very reasonable choice. I can not justify the price of a DA*60-250, f4 for my type of usage.

This weakness of this Tamron for sports, do not have Quick shift focus override . It's very difficult to capture moving subjects with unexpected movement. I prefer to set the lens to manual mode (on the lens instead of the camera body) and press the button to release the lens when you want to switch from AF / MF mode. But it must be careful not to get the lens apart from the camera body.
