The new Sigma 35/1.4 could be a better choice as a gap filler as it's a lot more in between 24 and 50 then 28 is. I'd recommend the Nikon 35/1.4G but the Sigma is far closer in price to the 28/1.8 than the 35/1.4G.
Will look at the Sigma.
