Question for those that take videos with SLTs

I don't video often, but when I do, it tends to be through the viewfinder. I find that holding it closer to my body like that allows fro better stability.  As with anything that would use the articulating screen of my A99 or A77, I will use it if the shot is so difficult that holding to my eye doesn't work well.
