Which technology to choose for casual colour printing?
I used to have an HP colour multi-purpose inkjet printer, which worked fine until a couple of years ago it got defective beyond economic repair.
Then I inherited an Epson Stylus DX6050 from my father (see below).
It worked fine for a relatively short time until the colours got dry. Green held on somewhat longer (even black text was printed green) but soon nothing worked any longer. We used it together with my son for casual printing, like some homeworks now and then. It might sound a naive question, but is drying out an inherent phenomenon for inkjet printers when seldom used? Is an inkjet printer appropriate for this use at all? What is the best for such a use?
