I'm wishing for you are wishing, but I wonder if Nikon will bite. Only way I see it happening is with a fixed lens, which would have to be mighty good for me to be interested.

They wouldn't necessarily have to come out with a new mount. I agree, that to come out with a mirrorless camera and not take advantage of the size savings that could be gained from mirrorless may not make a lot of sense. But they could just stick the F mount on a new mirrorless if they wanted a mirrorless camera
