Fuji x100

Anyone aware of, and had experience of the most recent Firmware update

Yes, it's 1.3 and I am very happy with it. It takes only a minute to update, you should definitely do it.

The reason I asked is that I have downloaded 1.30 twice and followed the sequence as instructed by Fujifilm website and the camera does not recognise it ~

Have I missed something

New firmware not be found is the message I keep getting

Do I have to open the FPUPDATE.dat file or not

Nope, just format your card, copy the file onto it, place it back in your camera and hold the DISP button while turning the camera on. What FW does your camera say it's on?

Just done that again (for the third time)

Message states ~ new firmware not be found, turn off camera

Thank you for your help

The battery is fully charged but does the camera need to be on AC ?

How do I find which FW version is on the camera at the moment, from memery it is 1.21

I seem to be doing everything right; and have now formatted a fourth SD card and repeated the procedure again, but still getting the same outcome

What OS platform are you on: Mac OS X, or Windows 7?

My experience with downloading any of Fuji's firmware on OS X seems to always have the issues you are having above. To get around this OS X problem, I fire up my VMWare and download the desired firmware onto my SD card in Windows.

It appears that for some file formatting reason, when downloading to the OS X platform, Fuji's DAT file is apparently modified just enough not to be easily recognized by the camera when attempting to initiate and install a given firmware upgrade. Via Windows, I've experienced no such DAT file format downloading/installing problems so far. If you are on a Mac and have a VMWare, or Parallels Windows build available, give it a try and perhaps it will help solve your "Firmware not found" problem.

Good luck to you regardless.
