Hi All
I'm looking at getting an a77 and not sure if it's worth getting the 16-50 2.8 as well (its a fair bit cheaper I'm sure you're all aware as part of a bundle). I already have Minolta 50 1.7 and am thinking of getting the sony 35 1.8 (as it gets very good reviews and the Minolta 50 isn't wide enough sometimes for photographing our children). I already have 16mm covered for landscapes so would mostly be using 35-50 end of the 16-50 which I will have covered with primes. So, the big question is, is it worth getting?
Thanks, Mick
Absolutely, it's a great lens for the money. I have this and the 35 f/1.8 which I got just for indoor portraits etc, but unless I need < f/2.8, I always end up with the the 16-50 because it out resolves the cheap primes quite handily and I get pixel level sharpness much easier on the 16-50.. plus the SSM and weather sealing are a nice match.
