D800E + Nikkor 70-300 VR

People don't go out and specifically buy the 70-300 for this camera. They/we already own it. How many consumers/photographers were really ready for such a huge jump in resolution? I went from a 7 MP camera to a 10, then to 12 MP. Now I suddenly I have 36? It takes some time to build up a new arsenal of lenses. For practical reasons I don't want a crazy-heavy lens even if it is superior. Why did I purchase the D800E? For the impressive dynamic range and low light performance--something I've wanted for years. Being able to crop wildlife shots is a bonus.
