Z990 at San Diego Zoo New Year's Day

While I want to like the Z990, it's shot to shot lag time are horrible.  Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.  I have the latest firmware and I've just down loaded an sd card formating software.  Even when shooting jpeg it can take up to 10 seconds per shot or worse!

two things about the Z990 standout--its slow processing speed as well as image quality.  Reagarding the image quality, when I shot in film effects mode and ektachrome, the shots including full zoom shots were far superior to the automatic kodak set up.  So I highly recommed shooting with film effects.

Sadly, however, it seems that you need to bring up the film effects mode each time you turn off your camera.  A bit of a hassel, but the image quality improves dramatically.

So any suggestion regarding processing write time would be welcomed.  Thank you my Kodak friends.
