Using the sun to give nice highlights around the models frame and the HSS flash to light the face nicely. Takes a few tests to get the amount of light right and I almost always need to diffuse it.
Heres a shot from New Years Day of my baby mumma and our son. Backlight was pretty strong and this random carriage was under a tree (at Royal Melbourne Gardens).
Nice skin tones and even light. And I see your bubs is giving the camera the snub -- much more of that in the years to come. Are you hand holding the flash camera left? Did you reduce power at this close range to avoid over-exposure?
