I´ve used CNX2 for a very long time, but from LR 3.x on I settled to Adobe.
I like the workflow better, and even the quality is quite good now. From my D2x/D3/D4 cameras ACR gives me visible more detail and resolution. CNX2 always seems to have noise reduction active. Fine hair in portraits so is easily waxed out in CNX2.
Color is a different story. ACR gives me best results with Adobe Standard most times. I even have a X-Rite ColorChecker Passport that I even measured with an X-Rite i1Pro2 for DNG profile generation, but results are not always pleasing. Sometimes I get green color cast in hair or furniture color, others are happy with CCP.
CNX2 isn´t perfect either in some color regards.
For any reason LR4.x slowed down in comparision to LR3.x. I don´t think it´s because of the new process since ACR runs fine from PS.
U-Point can be fine for many purposes, but the brush in LR isn´t bad either. Needs some practice to get used to.
Seems nothing is perfect in this world.
Thanks for your response. The one thing I find better with CNX2 is the image sharpness.
