Yes, that's a nice shot.

I noticed unlike the the 24-70mm and 70-200mm the 14-24 is able to found for half the price of new on ebay for example. Did you get a decent price on yours? I want to pick up one of these lenses but I wouldn't use it as much as the others but still, I'm seeing great photos with it such as yours.

Also what process did you use to arrive at an EV of -1.3?

And how did you get that tripod in the freezing lake like that?

Thanks, David.  I bought the lens on the Fred Miranda board and paid 70% of the new price for a mint lens.  I did not see this lens for 50% of new, but I am happy with what I got for what I paid.  I also don't expect to use this lens as much as, say, the 200mm f/4 micro or the 50mm f/1.8G, but there are a few occasions where nothing else will give the same results.  Specifically I have a swamp in mind that is near where I live.  As soon as I find the time, I'll go there and see what can be done with the ultra-wide perspective.

The -1.3EV were dialed in as exposure compensation on the camera body.  I took several pictures at different values and that looked the best to me.

Getting the tripod in was easy.  It is a fully extended RRS ground tripod and the lake is quite shallow (maybe half a foot  deep) at the water's edge. The bigger problem was not to get the remote release cord wet (I almost dropped it into the lake twice) and I removed the shoulder strap for this setup so that it wouldn't get wet.  My feet did get wet but only a little bit.
