I bought a Q as a back-up camera on a lark largely due to the ShopNBC deal.  However, now that I've researched it a bit more, I must say I'm doubly impressed with the features Pentax has crammed into this tiny marvel.

* leaf shutters allowing 1/2000 flash sync

* no AA filter

* option to use silent electronic shutter

* constant f/2.8 for inexpensive tele zoom

* focus peaking (with firmware)

I recognize that the small sensor makes it easier and cheaper to incorporate many of these things.  But Pentax still deserves credit.  These are smart design choices that really enhance the usability and maximize the imaging potential of the camera.  Many competitors lack all of these features, and all competitors lack at least a few of them.  I also own an OM-D E-M5 and believe me: Olympus owners would give their left arm for a camera with focus peaking, no AA filter, and a $300 f/2.8 tele zoom.  

Pentax is a smart company.  I wish more people knew how neat the Q really is.
