I own both and while I love the EM5 and 100-300 Panny combo, any of these photos can be captured with any of these cameras...

EM5 can easily capture Pelican shots like Jack took, I captured several myself with GH2 and 100-300...the Blue Angel jets were traveling at 500 mph and were easily AF'd with EM5...and whats the deal with this thread?...how did this guy get these great shots of dogs running with EM5? Magic?

Here's the problem for most folks and what the OP is on about:

I tried capturing some Blue Angel shots with Nex-7 and 55-210 and all were soft either due to Stabilization or slow AF...

Sony really needs to up the ante on AF Speed and accuracy...with a Nex or RX one must use Focus peaking for accurate AF or get ready for disappoint when you open many photos that are back focused or off focus....

I think the problem is the larger E Mount lens and getting the in lens AF mechanism to move fast enough where m43 has smallish lens that are very light and fast?

Love both systems they are great at what they allow us to capture...

Mate I've seen all those shots including the dogs. There are plenty of threads in m4/3 about the focusing of the OMD as well not hitting the mark / tracking and IBIS adding to problems with higher shutter speeds. We both know those pretty well LT.

I think we both also know its more about the settings than it is about the sensor or OIS and IBIS. I know you too well and know what you take C, LOL. Its not all about the camera, its more technique. I also know from the dog shots and my own MF shots how the DOF works and how the FPS work with just a slight focus shift.

The poster said the adaptor was...........

"that LA-EA2 is crap. it softens the image, and to produce a really good pic you would need to use a 1.8 or faster!.."

Now if thats correct, then some in here are lying about it mate and posting photos they shouldn't be taking.

He also said...........

"i love Sony, and appreciate Oly...but its way over due for Sony to make a Nex Mount Tele Zoom with fast aperture!."

So I would say, show me that fast tele lens in m4/3.

Sony does have some, but it needs the adaptor. Yes people go on about adding to the size of the camera with the adaptor, but then we both know that any zoom of F/2.8 is going to be big anyway Then they go on about how expensive the adaptor is, well how much is a fast zoom for NEX going to cost at a small size. It's all a catch 22.

All the best C and you can't add an AF 500mm F/4 to m4/3, awww I like that lens.

Exactly Danny, but we have seen many NEX shots suffer same consequence...technique and user error written all over them...(I can vouch for a few myself..lol)

I keep falling back to the Nex-7 and 18-200LE as my walk around camera, just can't get away from it...for longer lengths EM5 and 100-300, but I am finding the EM5 slow shutter results in less keepers in cloudy conditions...

Thanks Danny, you know these systems well...

The only limitations I see with the equipment available today is the Human Interface....

Mr Ichiro Kitao, I support the call to upgrade the FZ50.
I will not only buy one but two no questions asked...
