Change camera systems?

I have been a Canon user for years and currently own a 7d, several quality lenses, Speedlites and peripherals. After a recent fall and resulting shoulder surgery (I was not carrying any of my equipment at the time), I decided to lighten the load. (I'm approaching 70 years of age, so am not as agile as I used to be.)

I bought a Sony NEX-7 with the kit lens. Two weeks and a couple hundred images later, I am seriously considering selling all my Canon gear and moving totally to the Sony system. My photographic interests are landscapes, contemplative photography, and candid shots -- not sports and very little nature photography requiring long lenses.

I realize I'll take a loss on the Canon gear, but seriously question the extent to which I'll use it. I thought I'd post my dilemma here and see what advice I get. Will cooler heads prevail?
