The E-M5 menu layout has got to be the most ad-hoc interface I've seen on a piece of consumer electronics this side of a Yaesu radio.

For example:

1. The FIRST item in the menu, under "shooting menu 1" is "Card Setup." Why? Because the most important thing I do before taking any picture is format my memory card? Why isn't this option under the Setup menu?

2. Why aren't all of the items under the "Custom -> utility" menu under the Setup menu instead?

3. Why have a "shooting menu 1" and "shooting menu 2" page(s)? Why not just a "shooting menu" page that scrolls, like Custom does?

I realize that the manuals have been printed and the chances of future firmware that addresses these inconsistencies is zero. But I gotta vent.

As Art mentioned above, anyone who has used a series of Olympus models, from their DSLR's to the Pens, the menu interface is almost exactly the same other than the new features that are added with each successive model, so they are being consistent.

That said, I still sometimes find myself looking if I want to go change some feature I set as a default, and their manuals seem to be translated into English by someone in Japan whos first language is not English. They definitely could use a trip to the manual makeover department.
