One Huge limitation preventing completely replacing DSLR: ISO 80.

One huge limitation to the SX50 is that if the shutter speed is greater than 1 second, the camera will default to ISO 80.  And you cannot get around this limitation.  Canon will not allow you to use ISO 100-6400 in low light when this limitation kicks in.

This means that in low light, the camera will underexpose the photo pretty badly.  This includes regular indoor photos without flash.

I would always carry along at least a Canon 6D along with a 50 mm f1.8 Lens to get around this huge limitation.
