A Few Things To Consider
In reply to audiobomber, 4 months ago

I have read a lot of criticism about Ricoh's decision to produce the "Lensor" concept.
Here are some points to consider in that regard.
1.  If one had purchased a Fuji X100 (or any fixed lens compact) instead and there was a body, sensor, or lens improvement, one would have to purchase an entirely new camera to upgrade.
2.  If one had purchased the above type camera and decided that the focal length was not what was desired, again an entire new camera would have to be purchased to change the lens.
3.  If one wanted a truly pocket camera, the lucky owner of the fixed lens type could purchase a new camera and of course learn yet another interface for different camera, while a GXR owner could simply remove the EVF and add a P10 module.
4.  For those who wish to invest in an extensive lens collection, I agree that the "Lensor" idea is not ideal.  For an compact (but not pocket) camera, a Fuji X-Pro 1 would probably be a better bet for those folks.
5.  If one can handle manual focusing using an EVF (something of a problem, still), then the M mount module and a passel of old but excellent rangefinder lenses are waiting for the GXR.
All in all, I think the Ricoh GXR is a brilliant idea, but of course not for everyone.
